The Pillow I Couldn't Replace
For years, I found myself trying to get comfortable with pillows that either looked beautiful but didn’t support me, or supported me but were so unsightly I didn’t want them visible in my home. Nothing felt designed for women, for the way our bodies change, or for the way we actually rest.
I wanted something that felt good and looked good. Something ergonomic without feeling clinical, and beautiful without being purely decorative. But the more I searched, the clearer it became: that product simply didn't exist.
Like your favorite T-shirt, it's the object you instinctively reach for. The one that brings comfort without effort. The one you miss when it's not there. I wanted to create a resting companion that offered that same sense of familiarity while genuinely supporting the body through the many ways we unwind.
When I couldn't find what I was looking for, I decided to create it. I sought to develop something that supported better rest, felt beautiful to live with, and honored the important role sleep plays in our everyday wellbeing.
That's how Amarae began.
